DIC TECHNO is a R&D and manufacture plant of optical products, which bears the signature technology and the competitive advantage of LED OKAMURA.
We have special team effort within Sales Engineers (direct client facing), Product Planning and Development department (semi-client facing), and DIC Techno Center (non-client facing). DIC Techno plays very critical role in this triangular relationship, to enroot “high quality lighting” as the company’s DNA. Sales Engineers absorb the voices-of-customers and pass them to the Product Planning and Development dpt, who then considers for product-implication from the voices. If it needs further research and development, DIC Techno takes it further for the deeper-dive-into research and development.
Thru co-efforts between Product Planning and Development and DIC Techno, we study light in all aspects and put the innovation into our products. This triangular relationships have been transformed as the most efficient structure, based on the 30 years of our experience in commercial lighting. We understand the principles in “artisan-ship” that R&D is the heart of Japanese manufactures. DIC plays critical role in our business model. Because LED OKAMURA’s competitive advantage is high quality lighting.
R&D effort in quality lighting
At DIC Techno, LED OKAMRUA has been accumulating the knowledge and know-how in the commercial lighting for over 30 years. Setting the high-standard in quality lighting and implementing it into the products that have been LED OKAMURA’s competitive advantages. We know that the right-lighting is very powerful aid for any types of shops.
From long time research and the archived know-how, we’ve learned critical attributes for high quality lighting, for rendering different applications, whether its food or modern fashion items.
We have been studying wavelengths of light, lies from ultraviolet radiation, visible light, and infrared radiation. We are able to transmit and reflect any wavelengths in necessities and preferences, by our advanced dichroic reflector technology. These are well implemented in our optical products, color filters and dichroic reflectors.
We have been studying the spectral distribution, to see the characteristics of lighting from different light sources, among different LED-COBs. We take it further to learn to attract how to render differently to consumers’ eyes, with different light sources.
We have been studying “correlated color temperature”. We have know-how which combinations, among all the attributes in lighting, best suit to render different objects.
We have been studying Color Rendering Index and all the individual color values (R1-R15). For example, for food lighting, we look into all of the colors in the chart and we know that R9 is critical for food lighting. For Fashion Retail Lighting, higher values and more vivid in all individual color values (R1-R15) are important rather than just CRI, in order to make white whiter, rendering the clear contrasts and real texture of materials.
We study lighting-features in LED lighting, as we have accumulated experiences of it regardless of light-sources, from incandescent, Halogen, HID to LED.
Light craftsmen with 30 years of experience manufacture special “color-filters” by vacuum deposition technology. And the outcome of the light-quality is checked to the satisfaction for tuning.
Among all the attributes, our light-craftsmen are the gatekeeper, who check to see, in their naked eyes, for the balance of all attributes to reach to the right lighting for different purposes, and to the customers’ preferences.
